This morning, I had the chance to deliver food to the DTES with Ziggy. Due to the closure until the next benefit-receiving day, we encountered more people in need of food as they had run out of money. Many individuals I spoke to expressed their gratitude and need for the support. Our food provision today included sandwiches, yogurt, yogurt drinks, and fruits – enough for one meal.
This experience led me to ponder long-term solutions to address homelessness. How can we work together to ensure that more people have access to food, shelter, recovery resources, and opportunities for self-sufficiency? How can we mobilize more individuals to participate in creating lasting solutions to minimize homelessness?
