On December 6, 360 Community partnered with Ave Maria Garden Canada to host a workshop on making Advent wreaths. It was more than a craft session—it was a moment of shared reflection, creativity, and preparation for the holy season of Advent.
The Advent wreath, with its circle of evergreen, reminds us of God’s endless love—a love that has no beginning and no end. As we shaped branches into circles, we were reminded that this love holds us together, even across differences, and sustains us through the darker days of winter.
Each Sunday of Advent, we light a candle on the wreath to mark our journey toward Christmas. The growing light reflects the coming of Christ, who enters our world as hope fulfilled and love made flesh. The four candles—hope, peace, joy, and love—are not only symbols but invitations:
- Hope calls us to trust in God’s promises, even when the way ahead feels uncertain.
- Peace reminds us to seek reconciliation and wholeness in our relationships and communities.
- Joy invites us to celebrate the gifts of life, even in small and ordinary moments.
- Love grounds us in God’s presence, urging us to cherish one another as beloved.
As we crafted wreaths together, laughter and conversation wove through the room like threads of evergreen. It was a living reminder that Advent is not only about waiting—it is about preparing together, creating space for Christ’s light to shine among us.
May the wreaths we brought home continue to remind us of this sacred journey: from darkness into light, from waiting into fulfillment, from longing into love.
